OKAY. My tags are low which naturally means I should be doing open RP things for all the world. Therefore! TAG IN. You can either request a character and/or a type of scene, or tell me to surprise you (surprises will most likely end in crack), and I will lob people in your direction. If you want a specific verse to go with that person, specify.

I'm easy. Just tell me what you want to play and we will play it.

TYPE OF SCENE.
① Action → Gun fights, bar brawls, fights to the death are all possible scenarios.
② Angst → Characters suffer emotionally or physically from relationships breaking up, death, injury, etc. Hurt and comfort themes are included.
③ Crack → Genderswaps, super powers, sudden compulsions are all possible outcomes.
④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.
⑤ Gen → General fun, things that didn't fit in the other categories.
⑥ Your choice → Think of your own scenario, choose one of the above or make a combo even!

[There is an Ava. She has an ice cream. She's going to dangle it in front of your face until you take the bait.

She's there for a reason, but she's not going to let him in on that quite yet.]

[ ... Oh God, she does know the way to get his attention, doesn't she?

As soon as the ice cream is dangled in front of him, Alek straightens up in place. He eyes it suspiciously before his gaze returns to Ava. ]

What's the catch?

[shrugs, a face of complete innocence on her face]

Why does there have to be a catch?

[aleksandar]

I somehow doubt you're offering ice cream out of the goodness of your heart.

[ He does lean up to snatch it. ] But I'm a fan of taking risks.

[thebeatofherheart]

[grins a bit as she lets him take it, before resting her elbow on the table, and her chin in her hand]

So how are you?

[aleksandar]

Better now. The heat is getting unbearable here.

[ He licks the ice cream, but his gaze is still narrowed her way suspiciously. At least it's very yummy ice cream.

Alek can safely say it's worth it. ]

Tell me about it.

[she was very particular about what ice cream she got him. She wanted to make sure it would do the job.]

Everything okay with your brothers?

[aleksandar]

[ Alek lifts his gaze up at that, momentarily pausing his working on the ice cream. If it starts to melt, he busies himself with that particular corner. ]

Uh, I'm not actively fighting with any one of them. So that's progress?

[ He doesn't count Adam, because Adam is... something else entirely. ]

That's always good. Family has a way of getting under your skin.

[aleksandar]

Tell me about it. [ Pause. ] Do you have any siblings or is it just you?

[thebeatofherheart]

Just me. It was just me and my mom until I turned sixteen. When my Calling hit ...

[a beat]

Mom thought it would be better if I was around other demons like me.

[aleksandar]

[ Alek listens, turning toward her at the pause. He's finishing off his ice cream -- and hasn't forgotten to later ask what prompted such a adorable nice gesture. Knowing more about her is important, too. Much as he never knows what questions are too intrusive.

So wait, it was just you two until you -- and then what? Is that why you moved here?

[nods]

Mom's a Charun. I'm a Glays. My grandmother was a Glays too so she brought me here so that Grandma could teach me.

[she takes another bite of her own ice cream before shrugging.]

Only problem is she wanted to keep doing her thing and she seemed to think she wasn't going to find it in Chicago.

[aleksandar]

Ah. Is she not a fan of the city? I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, with the treaty and everyone kind of mixing together.

[ Throw Callings into the mix itself and things can get tricky. ]

[shakes her head]

I think she would do just fine with the city. It's Grandma she doesn't like.

[or her. The idea crosses her mind once or twice -- she had expected her demon daughter to be just like her up until she wasn't.]

I sense a story there. [ There's a small pause. ] Not that I'm asking for it if you don't want to share.

[ He gets it, after all. Long, complicated family dynamics throughout history. ]

[shrugs]

I don't really know it. Sometimes I think it's just politics. She didn't have the same Calling, so she left, and now she feels like she can't come back.

[aleksandar]

Do you talk to her a lot? Your mom.

[thebeatofherheart]

Sometimes. When she calls.

[aleksandar]

Do you miss her? [ Maybe he's just overidentifying here. It's a totally different situation. Alek's mother is dead, but ... it's on his mind. ]

[she's quiet for a minute, taking a bite of her ice cream before nodding.]

[aleksandar]

[ His throat tightens a bit. ] I miss mine, too.

[she shifts a bit closer, leaning into his shoulder]
