Castiel isn't the most social wizard at Hogwarts.

It's not really his fault. His older siblings have been outgoing, successful, and more to the point memorable. His professors see him as another in a long line of successful wizards, and they expect Castiel to do the same.

He does do well. But not to the extent that his siblings have. Michael was Head Boy. Gabriel and Raphael were quidditch stars and Anna ...

... Well, Anna probably wouldn't be about to fail at anything if she tried.

Castiel on the other hand, simply had his knowledge of magic. His grades are good, even in Snape's class (he's a Ravenclaw, so they should be), and he's master social communication enough to have small conversations when needed, but he's no social butterfly. For those that know his family, it makes him stand out.

He hates standing out.

He holes himself up in the music room because classes, doing his homework, and waiting. She doesn't come in often -- she has her own classes after all -- but every so often, the pretty, blond Hufflepuff will wander her way in and sit down at the piano.

Cas has never heard anything so beautiful.

He doesn't know if she ever notices, but at the same time he really doesn't care. As far as he's concerned, he just wants to listen to the music.

Maybe one day, he'll actually get the nerve to stop watching and start acting.
