Have fun, kids.

You're fine. :)
"Good." Not that she's complaining, she doesn't mind the trek -- she does a lot of traveling by foot, back home, too -- she's just looking forward to getting on with whatever they're supposed to be doing out here. "What's the plan once we get there?"
She's a tactician, back home; she's very big on plans.
she may get another one later, but he doesn't have a journal yet
Hippolyta, on the other hand, is not big on plans. In fact she's very much a smash and grab kind of girl. It's a character flaw that she's not really working on, though she probably should.
(Spoiler: she won't.)
"Should be simple enough."
Ooh.
Rather than being annoyed by that fact, however, if anything, she seems amused. Whether that's because Hippolyta reminds her of one of her crew or because that's so typical of a warmblood, who knows, but either way, the corners of her lips twitch just a little bit. "Things that are supposed to be simple rarely are."
no subject
"Perhaps they're not. But if we planned every aspect, we would never give it any room to surprise us."
Or something.
no subject
She really doesn't think she's going to get more than she already has, though, and that in mind, she shrugs. "I suppose I'll have to live without, just this once."
no subject
And with that, she's going to sneak her way forward to make a run for the nearest guard.
no subject
While she may or may not have a sword of her own, if only for the sake of the mission, however, she makes no attempt to reach for it, even though she follows Hippolyta quietly up to the guards. As far as she's concerned, traditional weapons are sort of a last resort -- something she uses when fang and claw fail her or she needs a little bit of distance between her and her opponent. It helps that she's sort of her own, living weapon and for more than just being trained and trained well in unarmed combat.
That in mind, when she catches up to the guard she's claimed as her own, she plants her hands on his shoulders, claws digging into his shoulder, and pulls him flush against her. She takes a split second, looking for an unprotected area of skin, and when she finds it, strikes, not unlike the snake she so resembles, delicate fangs flashing for an instant as she clamps her mouth down. The guard jerks once, twice and then stills, stiff. Pulling away, she lowers him gently to the ground, and leaves him there, his breathing odd, his respitory system already failing.
She wets her lips with her tongue, fangs already gone again, folded up against the roof of her mouth, and as if the fact that she just more or less sentenced a guy to death isn't a big deal. If they weren't supposed to kill anyone, well, she can make anti-venom. Probably before he dies. Probably. For now, though, she just glances to Hippolyta calmly.
You wish you were more or less part King Cobra.
no subject
"See? Told you we didn't need a plan."
no subject
A shrug follows, if only for her own benefit and in response to that thought, and she glances down at the guard. "Leave him?"
no subject
And she really doesn't feel much remorse for her enemies.
no subject
That in mind, she nods, too. "Fair enough."
no subject
"Ready?" she asks, glancing back over her shoulder.
no subject
When they stop, her attentions dart briefly over Hippolyta's shoulder, both in anticipation and keeping a watchful eye on things, just in case someone decides to try sneaking up on them. When she glances back to her, she nods once, definitively. "As I'll ever be."
no subject
And with that, she kicks down the door, sending it splintering into different areas of the room. Sitting behind the door, is a man with glasses, pouring over an old manuscript. He looks up with startled surprise when he sees the two women in front of him.
"Who are you?"
"We're here for you," she replies evenly. "You're coming with us."
no subject
"Trust me when I say it's in your best interests," she says calmly, still inspecting the room.
no subject
Hippoltya cracks her knuckles as makes a fist. She raises an eyebrow. She expects him to fill in the blanks.
" ... I see. Well then. Give me a moment to pack."
no subject
"You might want to make it quick." Whether that's a simple truth or a threat to let Hippolyta go to town on him, even she's not entirely sure.
no subject
Hipployta shrugs, before taking him by the arm and leading him back towards the door. "Are we clear?"
no subject
Anyway, that said, she glances towards Hippolyta as she falls into step behind them, taking up the rear. "As far as I could tell."
no subject
"Let's go."
no subject
She'll get herself a gold star, later. For now, she's going to follow and watch their backs.
no subject
"We don't want to go this way."
Hippolyta turns on him with an aggravated look. "Do you have a better way out?"
There's a pause. "Well ... no."
"Then, pray tell, why should we not use the exit."
There's the sound of clanking metal in the distance, and he points to the sound of the approaching soldiers as Hippolyta swears.
"That would be why."
no subject
Because if there are a lot, that actually might work in their favor, assuming they have to fight through them. They might be able to choke them in the corridors so they can't all come at them at once or get behind them.
no subject
He's referring to Hippolyta's fingers tightening against his arm.
And yes, she knows about the plan thing. I told you so can come after the mission is completed.
"What's our way out?"
"Alright, alright. This way." And with that, he'll lead the way down a side corridor.
no subject
And for the record, she's really, really hoping the doctor doesn't lead them into a deathtrap. He did say there was no better way out, after all, and it's what she'd do, if someone tried kidnapping her and it happened to be an option.
