[Transgenics going public opened up a whole new world of crazy as far as they were concerned. All sorts of not-quite-humans started making their way out of the woodwork, some reasons more obvious than others. Half of them wanted them to go away so that people wouldn't follow the trail from A to B, while some were happy to simply hide among them.

The former meant new enemies. The latter, potential allies.

Max isn't entirely sure what the werewolves are yet.

Derek, at least, is an ally. Of sorts. He makes nice with her because Scott wants him to, and Max can respect that system of leadership. So when Derek calls her and tells her to meet him on a roof, she shows. In a world like this, she doesn't need any new enemies.

She drops down onto the roof next to him, the epitome of her usual cat-like grace, before straightening to her feet and making her way closer.]
