I really wanted shippy things and didn't feel like combing through memes. So I made a post! Comment to this post with your characters, who you want and an option from the list below, and I will start a thread. Shenanigans will ensue.

IF YOU CHOOSE SURPRISE ME, it will probably be crack. Because I'm in that sort of mood.

Muselist is HERE and it's not completely updated, but I'm going to try and do that tonight. You may select SURPRISE for what character you want, but if you do it will likely be a crossover ship of my choosing. I don't really do M/M slash, but M/F and F/F are both fair game. Annnnnnnd that's it.

"I haven't seen it since it was in theaters and even then I wasn't really paying attention." She gives a bit of a shrug as she turns back to the bar, nudging the stool next to her as an indication that Rebekah should sit. "You would know better than I do."

Tamsin isn't the kind of girl that feels the compulsive need to watch Casablanca over and over again until she pukes. She likes to think it's a positive quality about herself most days.

"What brings you to town? I thought you were playing house with your brothers down in New Orleans."

She sits down next to Tamsin, indicating to the bartender that she wants a scotch on the rocks.

"I was. But I'm not anymore. If you want to get very technical I was exiled."

And yet, Rebekah isn't upset about it, not really. No matter how you dress it up, she's free. She refuses to let that knowledge be tarnished.

[laywaste]

"Exiled?" She raises an eyebrow at that, her face looking more incredulous than anything else. "Who'd he kill to become king of New Orleans?"

[easily]

"No one died, but he did overthrow Marcel a while back." So there is that.

[laywaste]

"He took control of something without committing a massacre?" Her eyebrows rise ever so slightly at that. "If I didn't know any better I'd say he'd grown as a person."

[easily]

She laughs a little at that. "Well, Marcel was his former protege -- he did kill a lot of Marcel's men, though."

[laywaste]

Tamsin shakes her head a bit before signaling the bartender to pour them both a refill. "Well, he wouldn't be your brother if he didn't have blood all over his hands."

[easily]

"Of course. Nik never likes to not make a scene." Her brother is kind of the living example of go big or go home.

[laywaste]

She laughs a bit at that. "He and Vex would probably get along so well." Because Vex doesn't really do anything half-assed either. Tamsin would almost like his style if he wasn't such a petty baby about it.

[easily]

"Too well. Or they would hate one another." One of the two. Two petty babies in one place could be a disaster.

[laywaste]

"If they did, at least they'd keep each other occupied." Which means they would be out of Tamsin and Rebekah's hair, for a little while if nothing else.

[easily]

"And away from us." Rebekah smirks a little. "The idea isn't without merit."

[laywaste]

She laughs a bit at that. "Lock 'em both in a room, see what happens?"

[easily]

"You bring the popcorn, I'll bring the wine" It does sound entertaining, if nothing else.

[laywaste]

She grins a bit at that, wide and a little manic, but that's how she usually is when she's on her last legs. "It's a date."

There's something off about that smile that makes Rebekah frown with concern.

"Are you alright?"

[laywaste]

Rebekah is probably one of the few people who would actually be concerned about Tamsin's well-being which is both depressing and comforting all at the same time. At least someone cares about what's going to happen to her. She's been spending too much time with people so focused on Bo, and she's never really been all that good at making friends.

Still, she doesn't exactly do well with pity, either, so as she studies Rebekah for a moment, she debates whether or not to actually tell her the truth. In the end, however, there's a part of her that would rather have someone to talk to.

"I'm dying."

There are few people in the world outside of her family that Rebekah truly cares whether they live or die. Perhaps that sounds cruel but it's true all the same. Tamsin has made that short list. She's never been good at making friends either.

She doesn't look at the other woman with pity so much as determination, a stubborn unwillingness to accept that.

"Surely there has to be something we can do to stop it."

[laywaste]

She takes a breath, before shaking her head. "It's what valkyries do. We live, we die, we're reborn. There's no stopping it." She takes another swig of my drink before shrugging. "It's not my last life cycle, though, so at least I know I'm coming back."

[easily]

"So you'll come back?" That is a relief, at the very least. She wouldn't want to loose Tamzin for good.

[laywaste]

"Eventually," she nods a bit. "There will be a couple weeks of growing pains and reliving puberty along with some fun spotty memory loss, but for the most part, I'll still be me. I hope."

Sometimes there were personality changes, but that was a bit like just being young again, and trying to figure out her place in the world. Every time she was reborn, she always seemed to want to start over, but that seemed to be the one thing she could never do. Even though she was reborn, she would always be Dark Fae.

"That sounds like fun," Rebekah says in a dry tone. "As someone stuck in a permanent state of adolescence I can't say I envy you." Who would want to relive puberty, after all.

Still, it beats the alternative.

[laywaste]

She smirks a bit at that. "Permanent state of anything is certainly better than growing old." She then takes a breath before shaking her head. "Still, dying isn't any fun. Whether I do it the slow way, or Bo and her grand quest get me killed first - either way is going to be messy."

[easily]

"I can't imagine it would be -- I've done it a few times myself and it never gets any better no matter who's taking the dagger out of me."

It never gets easier and it never gets fun -- but at least they recover from it.

[laywaste]

She makes a face at the mention of those daggers. In some ways the daggers are worse than dying. Death for valkyries lasts only a moment before the cycle restarts all over again. Those daggers could be left in for centuries if Klaus decided that was what he wanted. "I still want to melt those bitches down. No one has the right to do that to anyone."
