I really wanted shippy things and didn't feel like combing through memes. So I made a post! Comment to this post with your characters, who you want and an option from the list below, and I will start a thread. Shenanigans will ensue.

OPTIONS:
1 - Fluff
2 - Angst
3 - Crack
4 - Surprise Me!

IF YOU CHOOSE SURPRISE ME, it will probably be crack. Because I'm in that sort of mood.

Muselist is HERE and it's not completely updated, but I'm going to try and do that tonight. You may select SURPRISE for what character you want, but if you do it will likely be a crossover ship of my choosing. I don't really do M/M slash, but M/F and F/F are both fair game. Annnnnnnd that's it.

... Go, fight, win!

People fall through rifts all the time. But people don't usually fall through rifts.

It's actually kind of rare, really. The rift tends to not really kill people on impact - it's Chicago that does them in in the end, but occasionally, occasionally a rift won't open quite at ground level and send the newly arrived Wanderer falling through the air at an almost alarming speed. It doesn't generally end well, but when you get lucky, there's a very fast person near by to help catch you and break your fall.

Davina Claire is very lucky.

For one, she isn't dropped from that far off the ground - the kind of height that would usually come with a broken arm if she happened to land on the hard ground but Alexander Abernathy happens see her falling and zooms over to break that fall. It's actually a whole lot smoother than it should be, almost like something out of a movie, and if he didn't have a scared new Wanderer on his hands (or more like in his arms), he would probably pat himself on the back for that.

Instead, he just gives her a slightly awkward smile. "Hi."

Falling through the sky is one thing. She's not sure how it happened. One moment she had been walking to the magic shop in New Orleans to gather supplies for some spells and then the next? Hurtling through the air.

Being caught by a very cute boy is another and it throws her off guard a little, causing her to smile in a flustered sort of way. She doesn't often actually spend time with people her own age.

"Hey."

He looks her over for a minute to make sure there aren't any visible injuries before setting her down very gently on her feet. The smile is still there, though, charming and awful as ever. He may be running into "you need to stop" territory with the way he's about to flirt, but Miri's not around to yell at him for it.

So he'll do what he wants.

"I'm Alexander." Just so we're clear. "Welcome to Chicago."

"Davina." She smiles a little in return and there might even be a small blush on her cheeks. She can't help it. She doesn't get to talk to cute boys very often. Her life doesn't tend to include that anymore.

"How did I get to Chicago? I was just in New Orleans."

"You fell through a rift. Literally. It's almost never literally - I'd say you should consider yourself special, but considering that it could have ended in broken bones, I can see why you wouldn't." He takes a step back to give her a bit of space and let her process that. "You basically came through a hole in the universe."

"Hole in the universe?" Davina sounds a little skeptical but not that much. She's seen just about everything else.

"That's a new one."

"And you are taking it surprisingly well." He gives her a small smile, because he does this all the time. People are usually not this calm about it. "Almost makes me wonder if it's really your first time."
