[The look on her face has Rebekah stifling a laugh before she manages a nod. It's not laughing at Freya as much just enjoying see her sister react to the things she's missed in her time asleep. ]
Wait until you try the cheesecake I have in the fridge. Food's come quite a ways since the 20s and 30s.
[ Rebekah snags her glass, taking a drink before picking up a slice for herself. ]
It's definitely come a long way, but so have a lot of things. You saw the television back at the asylum. We should pick up a flat screen so you can get the real experience. I got some movie recs from Josh that he swears are must watch.
I can only imagine. Everything just seems so much ... brighter and more vibrant. I can't tell sometimes if it's meant to be more of a distraction or meant to make them feel more alive.
[Not to say she's unwilling, but she's certainly not a technology addict like the rest of the world.]
Honestly? It kind of fades into the background after a first few months or so. When I came out of the coffin, I'd probably have been in the same boat. You should have seen my face the first time Nik took me shopping.
Everything was so bloody short and tight. [Rebekah snorted a quiet laugh. ]
I am right there with you. But I can't say I mind the fact trousers for women are much more in fashion. The skirts we used to have to wear were ridiculous.
I remember. I think France was close to the worst before we came over here in the 1700s. I missed out on the antebellum fashions by a few years, though. [Rebekah shook her head.]
The independence isn't bad either. Not that I wasn't independent before, but with the social rules and regulations about 'young unmarried women' for so many centuries? Even the 20s... [Rebekah rubbed a hand over her eyes. ]
And then you look at the girls today... It really is a different world.
I almost wish I could have been there when it happened. Seeing all of those women reclaiming their lives ... it must have been amazing. And so liberating.
I would have been right there along with them. The suffrage movement was one thing, but it was really the second world war that changed a lot of things too. With all the men off fighting, women had to step up and work, among other things.
[Rebekah snags a handful of french fries.]
At least there're movies and documentaries now. Not the same as experiencing it firsthand but...
It wasn't cast by a Devereaux witch, not originally. She wore the body one of one, but the witch who cast it was named Celeste Dubois. I doubt she has any descendants in the coven, though. [Rebekah leaned back against the couch. ]
Hayley was just trying to protect Hope, but Nik...
[She makes a small face at that, before shaking her head.]
I'll figure it out. I just need a little time. And possibly time with Hayley or Jackson, if they'll let me. Being exposed to the spell might help understand some of the layers to it.
The full moon's in a couple of days. We'll go out there once night falls and talk to them. Hayley shouldn't have a problem with it if it gets her back to being human with her pack.
And Nik can go hang. He had no right to do that, Hope's father or not.

[she moves to take another bite, before leaning back into her seat.]
I tried pizza briefly, when I was awake in 1912. It certainly didn't taste like this.

And hopefully now that we're free of both of our oppressors, we'll be able to experience a lot more of these landmarks.

Any luck trying to lift the curse off the wolves?

I'm working on it. I wish that there was still a Devereaux witch around to speak with about it. The spell is very ... intricate.
