When Sam first spots mistletoe hanging around the doorways of the firm, he also becomes very quick to avoid them. Something so normal doesn't really have a place in Wolfram and Hart as far as he's concerned, and he's willing to bet it's not being used for it's intended seasonal purpose.

(Though he does feel it's an appropriately themed decoration, given that mistletoe is a parasitic plant and the firm feels like a giant parasitic worm sometimes, but he doesn't actually state that out loud.)

That being said, as he's making his way through the office he catches sight of Lilah standing under one of those sprigs and ... well. He never said he objected to other people getting caught under it. He comes up behind her as she's using the copier, before leaning over her shoulder.

"You know, I find it hard to believe that this was the only available copier in the building."

Lilah has been avoiding them the best she can as well. She knows Wolfram and Hart well enough to know they can't be as innocent as they look. There's probably a catch.

But the problem is she needed to use the copier and then she got stuck under a spring and now she can't move.

Damnit.

"The others were all busy, I assure you."

"Mmmm-hmmm." Sam knows that he shouldn't be teasing her about this, but there's something inherently amusing about this, when Lilah is usually so careful. "So I take it you weren't taking advantage of the holiday spirit?"

[succubitch]

"Hardly. Do I look like the festive sort?" She doesn't tend to celebrate anything -- it's a waste of time. And really, it's not like she has anyone to celebrate with, most of the time. Not that she'd say that last part out loud.

"Just wanted to be sure." He tips his head to the side as he makes his way closer, sliding his hands in his pockets. "You need a hand?" That offer isn't as gloating as it could be, because this really isn't a fun situation to be in.

On the one hand, Lilah hates admitting she needs help from anyone but on the other hand? Sam is definitely preferable to a lot of the other options in Wolfram and Hart. At least this could be something she wouldn't completely hate.

"I could use one, yes."

Sam nods, before taking her hand in his gently, giving it a small squeeze, before pressing a kiss to the back of it. He then steps back to see if that will be the loophole around the mistletoe. He may be an ass at times, but he also isn't a fan of forcing someone to kiss him either.

She tries taking a step away from the mistletoe and she can't budge at all. "If only things could be that simple."

He scowls slightly at that, not because the idea of kissing her is repulsive - it isn't - but it's not necessarily the way he wanted this to happen. All the same, the look fades after a second before he's stepping in closer, hands coming to rest against her elbows as he kisses her gently.

It's not how Lilah would have chosen this to go either. She'd be the first to admit Sam is attractive and she's not one looking for romance in life but she does tend to like a little self control in the matter. So much for that. Oh well, she'll enjoy it as much as she can, might as well, so with that in mind she lets her eyes flutter closed as she kisses him back

He kisses her as long as she needs to, before taking a step back and trying to draw her with him, not breaking the kiss exactly, but testing to see if she's finally free of the copier.

And she's free. She takes a step forward, letting out a small sigh of relief. She'd never actually say thank you but she was grateful it was him who came to her rescue -- given Wolfram and Hart it could have been a lot worse.

As soon as she steps through, he takes a step back, breaking the kiss with a nod. "Looks like that'll do it." He knows she's never going to thank him, but he didn't want to just leave it at that and walk away.

"Looks like. Hopefully that's the last either one of us get stuck under one of those" As she knows she's spotted quite a few more around the office

Sam nods in agreement before getting curious. "I wonder if we could torch them with a flamethrower, or if it'll be like the hydra. Cut off one head, two more grow in it's place."

"Probably a hydra situation, knowing the Senior Partners." She can't imagine burning them would be effective, it's too easy.

Sam makes a face, before shaking his head. "At least the holidays are almost over. Should disappear when they're done."

[succubitch]

"There is at least that to look forward to." If nothing else.

He nods in agreement. "And now that you're free, I should probably let you get back to work."

And with that she'll do exactly that.
