[Christmas in Chicago means one thing.

Snow.

So much snow.

Cora? Not really a fan of the snow. She is more than happy to stay bundled up in the Hale House where it's warm and cozy and not cold and wet. California girl, through and through. The idea of Christmas at all, really, is so strange and foreign because it's been a long time since she actually celebrated Christmas. At the end of the day, she's just happy to have people around again. She finally feels like she has a pack after so long, and that's the best Christmas present she could be given.

Currently she's curled up on the couch, cup of hot cocoa in hand, watching the snowflakes drift down through the window, blanketing the estate in white. She can hear the footsteps of someone approaching, but she doesn't turn around right away, just wrinkling her nose at the sight.]

Still not a fan of snow.

[ you'd think alek wouldn't be a fan of the holidays, in general.

but christmas was his mother's favorite holiday, and his mother was alek's favorite person, so he has an attachment to it on principle. she loved decorating the christmas tree, she loved the first snowfall, and she always let alek put the star up on the tree when he was younger. ... he'd usually have to climb up on logan's shoulders, but those are details. it's different now that she is gone, but logan tries his best. alek doesn't really have the heart to tell him it's never going to be the same. ]

Really? Not even the igloos in the park? [ don't ask how they're kept warm inside. the rift is weird. ]

[She holds up a finger as she considers that because yeah. Those are okay.]

Those are pretty nice, but I still have to trudge through all the cold to get to them.

[And that she is still not fond of. Winter, in general, is just weird.]

I'm not used to winters like this.

[ alek smirks quietly to himself as she holds up that pointy little finger. she's cute sometimes, okay. and because she's cora, she's completely unaware of the fact she's being cute, which tends to only make her cuter.

he retrieves a wool blanket from one of the chest drawers, lifting it up to her in offer. ]

It's even more of a bitch to drive in.

[ he gets it. ] At the same time, I don't think I'd like anywhere that's too warm, either. [ the heat makes him antsy. ]

[She takes the blanket from him with a smile, slipping it around her shoulders before holding the end up with one arm, offering him room to slip in if he wanted to. She's definitely a cuddler, once she gets over being "angry" with everything you say.]

No. Florida is the worst, with all that humidity. Beacon Hills tended to be a pretty dry heat, even when it did get really hot.
