[He is a super dork, but she finds that incredibly endearing, so it works for him.]

Fine. I was just waiting for my boyfriend.

[She's trying out the word and it feels a little weird when she says it, but it's the good kind of weird. The kind of weird she wants to get used to.]

He's running late. As usual.

[Peter's smile widens into a grin when she uses the word even though she can't see it. He leans against the wall as he looks over at her.]

...kinda sounds like a jerk. Making you wait so much. I should have a talk with him. Spider to boy.

[He slides his mask off and then sinks down beside her with a little smile]

...hi.

Hi.

[And once he is there, she will dart forward, brushing a soft kiss against his lips. She's still getting used to being able to do that, but she likes it all the same.]

[Peter lets out a soft sound against her mouth when she darts forward with that beautiful soft kiss of hers. He smiles all goofy but pleased against her mouth before he pulls back enough to see her face.]

I'm sorry I was late. There... really was this cat up in a tree. [He gestures vaguely behind himself]

[She laughs at that.]

I'm sure whoever the cat belonged to is very grateful.

[Peter sends her a lopsided smile as his hand grips to her waist.]

A little boy, he was very upset and then very happy. But I didn't actually want to be late this time. At least it was just... y'know a cat in a tree. Could be worse. Guess New York City wanted to be nice on Christmas.

[She smiles a bit at that because that is adorable, and she can't really be mad about that.]

If that's all you had to deal with on Christmas, then I can live with you being late.

[He laughs softly, trailing a thumb over her bottom lip briefly before he leans back against the wall]

This Christmas, yeah. That was all. It wasn't too bad. [Peter bites down on his lip then before he opens the window, stretching inside to pull out a tiny, wrapped package before he shifts on his feet slightly.]

I- Uh, I got you something. For Christmas.

[Her eyes widen a bit in surprise because presents are not something she was expecting. She hasn't really gotten any in a long time.]

You did? You didn't have to.

[She feels bad because she didn't ... actually get him anything.]

[Peter sends her a lopsided smile at the way she has that surprise all over her face. He has a feeling she didn't get him anything at all, and he knows she hasn't really celebrated or had presents for Christmas or any other holiday in a long time.

It's why... he wanted to change that]

I know I didn't. [It's said softly before he lifts up the box to her so she can open it. Inside, it's a necklace with a wolf pendant and a spider pendant. To like signify them.

And stuff]

[She opens it slowly, unsure if she should even accept it when she doesn't have anything to give him in return, but when she sees what it is, she can't help the smile that crosses her face. It's simple, but she can see the meaning behind it, and it means more to her than something more elaborate ever will.]

[Peter sends her a tiny smile which widens when he watches her reaction to it. Simple suits them in the best way. Their lives are so complicated, filled with the supernatural or with hunters or with genetically modified spiders or with bad guys who want to take over the whole world, but this? What they have? It's simple and beautiful, and no one can touch it.]

You're welcome. [Then he leans into kiss her.] You mean a lot to me, y'know? Christmas is like the time of year to express that so I wanted to.

[She smiles softly into the kiss before nodding her agreement.]

You mean a lot to me too. You're the first real friend I've had in a long time.

[Never mind more than that. He's the only person she's ever had who's been more than that, which is scary but never scary enough that she feels like she has to run away from it.]

Yeah, same. It's- it's never really been easy for me, and I never even had to go on the run like you did.

[Peter just doesn't connect to people very well. He's awkward, and he is a loner. Socialization is a struggle. He slips his hand into her own, locking their fingers together tightly as he does so.

He sends her a little smile, but he feels just how important she is to him wrap around his chest tightly, wonderfully.]

[She smiles back at him, squeezing his hand in return, before shifting to curl up closer to him and get comfortable on the couch. But she also doesn't want to talk about feelings anymore because she's not very good at it, but it means the world to her that he gets it. Not many ever do.

[Peter smirks lightly in her direction, and he leans into kiss her on the mouth as his arm winds around her shoulders. He is good for distractions too, turning on the TV and flipping to the corniest of Christmas movies that he can find.

And it is a wonderful, beautiful Christmas]
