1. Comment to this post with one of my muses (not listed: Barry Allen, Laurel Lance) in the subject line or "surprise me."
2. I will start a thread of the two of them getting caught under the mistletoe.
3. It doesn't have to be magical mistletoe - I will probably just have it be regular mistletoe. I just want overly indulgent shippy stuff.
4. Enjoy!

[She nods in agreement.]

We're taking it one step at a time.

[A beat, then curiously.]

You know, they were never particularly clear on how they got Fisk. Was it just dumb luck?

A little dumb luck, a little bit of the right people looking into the right things, a little bit of help from the neighborhood Mask. [he pauses, making a so-so gesture] The Devil of Hell's Kitchen or Daredevil -- whatever they're calling him this week.

Ahh. We have a few of those in Star City. Our big two are the Arrow and the Canary, but they've got a whole little club now.

[Which she happens to be a part of but suuuuuuure.]

New York's got it's own club, too, but I'm not sure the Kitchen's Mask is with them? [and he's okay with that. aliens and evil elves and killer robots are a little above his pay grade] I feel like Iron Man flying around, lending him a hand would have been hard to miss, so.

[She laughs a bit at that.]

Hanging out with Tony Stark wouldn't really be the Arrow's style, I'll admit. I'm not sure he really seems like Daredevil's either.

[Especially considering how much Oliver and Ray knocked heads.]

I'm not sure it does, either. It's -- I think he's more the Batman type.

[whether or not the Batman actually exists in her reality, the narration doesn't know, but the point still stands]

[YES HE DOES BECAUSE ORACLE IS CANON, SO I'm just gonna run with it.]

That guy from Gotham City? He sounds like a peach.
aworldonfire: (the sun broke free of the clouds)

[personal profile] aworldonfire 2016-02-16 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
[that's totally cool. Dick Grayson sends love and kisses from Gotham]

Yeah, well. So does the Devil of Hell's Kitchen.

[Yep, that's another one we should play sometime. She gives a small shrug.]

I guess they've all got their hang ups. None of them are really doing it for great reasons.

[There's a beat as she thinks of Barry.]

Except maybe the Flash.
aworldonfire: (teach you to believe in something)

[personal profile] aworldonfire 2016-02-16 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
[yes, please]

What makes his reasoning so great?

[not that he thinks his reasoning is superior -- he's not a hero, never claimed to be, he just got fed up with the way things were going in the Kitchen. more, he's curious. she sounds like she knows exactly why the Flash is doing this and that's enough to make him ask]

Because he isn't motivated by vengeance or vendetta. He just ... genuinely wants to help.

[A beat.]

And nine times out of ten, his bad guys don't even wind up in the hospital. Just ... in jail.

[That and she's met Barry so she knows that he's basically a cinnamon roll physics nerd.]

Hurting people isn't ... necessary to him. It's just occasionally an unfortunate side effect.

[personal profile] aworldonfire 2016-02-17 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
That's definitely something.

[for as dismissive as that might sound, he's honestly impressed -- and maybe a little guilty, though he thinks he hides that part well enough. yeah, he likes beating the shit out of scumbags. it's not that -- well. it's complicated]

[personal profile] prosecutorial 2016-02-18 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[Laurel also likes beating the shit out of scumbags. She's not about to judge, if they ever get that far.]

Yes, it is. Too bad not all metahumans are like him.
aworldonfire: (i need to question what i need)

[personal profile] aworldonfire 2016-02-20 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Metahumans? Is that what you call them here?

[casually changing the subject so he doesn't have to think about the morality of what he's doing (again) for the win?]

[She nods in agreement.]

That's the name STAR Labs gave them. Which, since they created them, we're going to follow their lead.
aworldonfire: (i need to question what i need)

[personal profile] aworldonfire 2016-02-23 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
So, would you consider someone with superpowers not created by STAR Labs a metahuman? [please say no. he's not sure he likes that term. he's just a guy who can hear really well]

[She gives a small shrug.]

I don't know. I guess it depends on if they have their own names for themselves already.

[Matt looks thoughtful for a moment before ultimately shrugging himself. he doesn't have a name for what he can do beyond gifts, but -- he'll take it]

Fair enough.

[She nods once before swallowing with a small smile.]

Anyway. I should let you continue mingling.

[And as she glances up again and see the mistletoe, she'll pause, considering, before leaning forward an giving him a soft kiss on the cheek.]

Merry Christmas, counselor.
aworldonfire: (the sun broke free of the clouds)

[personal profile] aworldonfire 2016-03-12 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[he hums, shifting a little on his feet as he plans on resettling where he is (best way for a blind guy to mingle is for people to come to him). he stops when she leans to kiss him on the cheek, however, lets out a breath, undeniably delighted, and turns his head to return the favor]

[he's smiling when she pulls away, and warmly, honestly, he answers:]
Merry Christmas.

[that said, he'll let her go]
