[Freya is used to finding surprises lurking in the corners of the Abattoir, as Klaus has a way of hiding surprises in one way or another, but when this particular surprise happens to be Stefan Salvatore, she can't help but be curious. As aware as she is of his history with her family, somehow he always finds himself drawn back in again, and she can't help but be drawn to him.]

I thought you were heading back to Mystic Falls.

[More of a statement than a question, but at least a start to the conversation all the same.]

I was halfway out of Louisiana when your brother called me back. [ Ordinarily, Stefan might have ignored being summoned by Klaus -- especially now that the sire link is broken and self-preservation is no longer a factor. But he hasn't forgotten that the Mikaelsons had done him a solid by assisting with his Rayna Cruz problem and admittedly there is some curiosity as to why Klaus continues to choose to rely upon him of all people when he's got a city-full of goons to do his bidding. ]

I suppose it's a comfort, with so many enemies heading his way.
