[Hey, he's been around long enough to know how she is. Or at least he tells himself that he's been around long enough. Though he raises a brow at her statement.]

He's afraid of the dark? So he leaves you to come in here after something a very bad person could be coming in after?

I never said he was a paladin of virtue. I just said he was back up.

Backup that's bound to get himself killed at this rate. I might need to have a word with him after everything is said and done.

[She rolls her eyes before continuing to move forward.]

We've got a job to finish first.

[He allows his eyes to go back to their cold steel blue as they move forward through the catacombs.]

If she shows up I don't want you in here. She can't be allowed to get her hands on this artifact.

She? She who?

[Because if anyone else is coming for this artifact, she's going to shoot them. Without prejudice.]

[He shakes his head and stops turning those eyes towards her.]

You know what I am. The Nagual have one of their own and she's not easily killable, Jenny. If she comes she won't come alone. What she comes with you can shoot until you run out of bullets and it won't do a damn thing to them. And they'll protect her.

[She stops and she groans.]

The nagual are coming here with freaking beserkers?

[She knows her lore, okay. Give her more credit than that.]

You could say that.

[He shakes his head and sighs. More annoyed at a certain werejaguar than anything else.]

Her name is Kate Argent and she is coming here with berserkers. Three of them to be exact.

[Jenny knows that name. She knows that name well, and she's slightly reeling from the fact that Kate Argent of all people got turned, but that's not a problem they need to deal with right now.]

Then we better move fast.

Then move.

[She's not as fast as he is but she was a good agent. A good person in general and he didn't want Kate Argent or the berserkers to get a hold of her.]

I'll let you know if I catch her scent.

[Jenny takes a breath and nods again, before starting to move forward, gun poised at the ready, just in case.]

[A part of him doesn't want her there. He wants her safe and not in the line of fight of beserkers and Kate Argent. Bullets, not even silver, would really do anything and he knows that.]

[Jenny nods, before stepping back to give him some room to shift.]

[Hopefully she's not weirded out by naked men, since he can't exactly shift wearing his clothes. Oh, he could but it wouldn't do him any good. He'd just end up losing them and not be able to shift back afterward. So he sets his clothes aside before shifting and shaking out his fur, that big black wolf leading her further down the corridor once his bearings are back.]

[She is not weirded out by naked men, but she will duck to grab his clothes and shove them into her bag so that they're not leaving some kind of trail behind, and then follows his lead down the tunnel.]

[He would tell her that he's appreciative over her grabbing his clothes, but he doesn't care. Clothes are just that, clothes. Derek scents the air and moves further down the tunnel before giving a low growl. It wasn't Kate and he's sure it's not the berserkers but that didn't mean that there wasn't trouble down there.]

[Clothes are just clothes, but if they're trying to stay stealthy it looks pretty damn suspicious. But she follows and keeps her gun trained, ready for any sign of trouble that Derek may signal for.]

[It's a bit further down the way that those lips pull back in a deep snarl, nose up scenting the air at the same time. He's resisting the urge to run ahead of her.]

[She tenses up at that, her gun coming up hard and fast in the direction he was heading in. She can see the way he tenses ahead of her and she nods.]

Go. I'll cover you.

[That snarl deepens a bit before he heads off at a run down the passage they'd been walking.

There was a scent that he'd caught, but it wasn't exactly Kate's. It did, however, have her chemosignals around it. Or maybe it was just the berserkers that he was catching the scent of at the moment.]

[And she stays silent for a moment, glancing around to make sure no one was coming directly before she mutters.]

You do know I can't speak wolf, right? One snarl for bad, two snarls for real bad?

[Sometimes, just sometimes, he forgets that Jenny can't speak wolf. Normally he's not in his wolf skin when they're around one another. She's one, outside of the pack, that he trusts with his secret. Trusts that she won't turn it against him.

He gives two snarls for real bad. No use in sugar coating anything.]

[Great. She flicks off the safety and goes to step ahead of him.]

And here I thought this day was going so well.
