The bite doesn't always take. No one really knows why, but the body just ... rejects it. The person who was bitten usually doesn't survive it though.

Does it show any sign that it's rejecting it?

[Jeremy probably should've warned Derek about Elena's intrigue into his family. Especially with Cora there.]

[He nods slowly.]

Black blood, and other body fluids. A lot of pain. Death.

For us the change can either take or kill you. However, Clayton biting me could've killed me. Here, for us, woman aren't strong enough for the change. So I'm glad that where you're from they are. Though I've never heard of black blood.

[Derek is probably sure that if Talia or Laura had heard something like that, they'd scoff at the idea that women aren't strong enough, but that's neither here nor there.]

Sounds pretty similar then. But the black fluids are basically a sign that your body is eating itself from the inside out so ... it's not really pleasant.

[Laura and Talia would both scoff at the idea of women not being strong enough for the change. However, their werewolves are different from the wolves of the Danvers family.]

It doesn't sound pleasant. I'm just glad that we don't go through anything like that.

It's not. But it's also not meant to be. It's just a good reason for Alphas to be careful with their fangs.

[That way they're not massively turning everyone they meet.]
nature_wins_out: (Default)

[personal profile] nature_wins_out 2018-03-09 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)

So, for you it's only alphas who can turn someone?

[If that were the case then it's something that intrigues the she-wolf.]

[He nods.]

Betas don't have that kind of power. Why?

[personal profile] nature_wins_out 2018-03-13 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)

[That just seemed a bit weird to her.]

My mate, Clayton, is the one who turned me. He's not an alpha. He's one of Jeremy's betas, his foster son. But he's not an alpha.

That must be something different between our species of werewolves.

[Good to know though. He'll have to warn Allison and the other human members of the pack to stay away from their teeth.]
nature_wins_out: (Default)

[personal profile] nature_wins_out 2018-03-24 06:51 am (UTC)(link)

It must be. I've never known werewolves to be so different from one another.

[Elena loves that Derek's willing to share information about his wolves though.]

[He gives a small shrug.]

The supernatural world is weird.

[She can't help but give a bit o a chuckle]

That one I can vouch for. Especially around here.

I've been living in it my whole life. Just when you think it's really making sense, it throws you a curveball.

[personal profile] nature_wins_out 2018-04-13 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)

I didn't even know the supernatural world existed until I met Clay.

That's how it happens for most people, in my experience. I grew up in it, but most don't realize it's there until they run into it.
nature_wins_out: (Default)

[personal profile] nature_wins_out 2018-04-30 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)

I wasn't even trying to run into it.

[She can't help but laugh a little]

Thank you, Derek.

[He raises an eyebrow.]

For what?
nature_wins_out: (Default)

[personal profile] nature_wins_out 2018-05-31 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)

[She gives him a warm smile.]

For coming out here. For telling me about your kind. For not getting into any fights.

[pause]

So far.

[There's no telling what Cora's told her.]

[His eyebrows go up a bit at that before he smirks.]

You know, I don't actually go looking for those.

[personal profile] nature_wins_out 2018-06-07 05:50 am (UTC)(link)

[She tries not to smile but ultimately fails.]

That's not what your sister has told me.

Yeah, well, she's highly biased.

In my experience? But I was the boy in the middle of two sisters.

[His experience may have been ... unique.]
