( it's ... strange, almost. to see someone like apollo so tentative, almost self-effacing. at the height of her grief and her anger, it'd been easy to write off their time spent together as something he solely used as a means to an end, but deep down, she knows.

it's why, when a familiar song starts to play — one they've already danced before — elena motions to the dance floor as her very own olive branch. ) For old times' sake?

[He turns in the direction of the dance floor for a moment, before nodding, placing his drink to the side and extending his hand to her. He wouldn't have offered it if she hadn't first, but there's a part of him who's missed dancing with her, even if it was only the once, a long time ago.

Once they are on the dance floor, swaying in time to the music, he glances back to her with a small smile.]

I'm glad you came.

( elena slips her hand into his, following him out into the dance floor. the space is erased between them, and there's still something familiar about this, even after all these years. ) Your sister suggested that I do so.
