[The slow smirk that crosses Seth's face as he spots Wynonna walking towards him stays in place when she tells him what she's hear for, and given what Seth does for a living, he's honestly the best person to be upfront with that about. Seth would have likely done the same to her if the opportunity had presented itself.]

She was with me the entire time, officer. Or should I say Marshal?

[Are you hiding from your federal marshal guard dog, Wynonna? Regardless, he gestures to the seat across to him and waves to one of the lackeys that happened to be standing by.]

Bring by another bottle of whiskey.

[she might be. look, dolls is great and all but there's a lot of things he doesn't really approve of, and sometimes it's better to keep him from knowing too much.

I know how that goes. How long do you need to hide out for?

[He's not going to assume anything, and he is, at times, a gentleman. Things have changed for both of them, so he's not about to get cocky.]

[she doesn't dig. maybe she should but she gets it -- sibling shit can be complicated and she'd be lying if she said part of why she left town didn't involve everything that went down with willa. she wanted a reminder of when her life wasn't so complicated and shitty. assuming that time ever really existed.]

[Because given both of their respective lives, they don't get to see each other all that often. Seth could honestly use a friend at the moment, rather than an acquaintance he's happened to warm to.]

And I have been overdue for some of that.

[honestly, wynonna could use a friend these days too. she's felt a little isolated and alone lately.]

[He grins in return, before raising his glass to meet hers.]

[By which he means they will find the rowdiest bar, drink a lot of alcohol, and probably start a bar fight.

Because that's how Seth tends to roll most days.]

[it's how wynonna generally rolls too. and sure enough, by the end of the night they're being kicked out of the bar for starting a brawl, and wynonna couldn't seem more pleased by the outcome.]

That was more fun than I've had in a long time.
