Yeah, I know.

[He feels bad, being the one to wake her up for a chance, but part of him is feeling restless, and he feels like even though he has so much time with Nora that he wouldn't get to have, it's not enough time at all. It feels like there's so much he still has left to learn before she has to go back to the future.

No matter how much they may want to avoid it, they both know it's coming.

So that's why he's standing at his daughter's door at three in the morning, and he gives her a small, hopeful smile.]

I thought we might go get some doughnuts?

[recolte]

[He could have said he just wanted to hang out and watch movies and she would've loved it. Bribing her with food is a good direction to take too.

Nora looks around him and down the hall towards where Barry and Iris's room is. Like she's seeing if she has to ask for permission to go get donuts with her dad in the middle of the night. But the door is closed and she assumes that Iris is asleep.]

Yeah, give me a sec to change.

[It's literally two seconds after she closes her bedroom door on him before she opens it again, ready to go.]

There's a really good place in Bludhaven I hear.

[He grins a bit at that, because yes, good, he is glad that she is willing to jump in, not that he doubted that she would. He was already dressed and ready to go.]

I know just where you mean. Follow me?

[And if she agrees he'll be off in a flash, trailing his signature lightning behind him.]

[Nora nods enthusiastically and then they're off, in flashes of gold and purple. This is all she's ever wanted. Just to be able to run with her dad. It's unfair that she never got it before now and maybe the price she's paying is too high, but in this moment-- it doesn't matter. It's worth it.

She can obviously never tell him what's really going on or he'll hate her forever.]

What do you think? [Nora asks, skidding to a stop after her run, right outside the donut shop.] One dozen each? Two?

[He considers for a moment, before giving a small shrug.]

I think one each should be okay. We probably should try and get some sleep at some point.

[So not too much sugar. They're still going to wind up with a dozen doughnuts each though.]

[It's a long run from Central City to Bludhaven. Nora needs at least a dozen doughnuts just to make it back without passing out. She's small, her legs don't go as far as his do.]

What for? I feel like I don't sleep as much anymore. Is that weird?

[He shakes his head.]

I didn't sleep a lot at first either, but it's one of those things that you need to learn to balance, like food. While it may seem like you're fine, the more you learn and the further you run, the more your body is going to wear out. You need that time to recover. If you overwork yourself, you could literally burn yourself out.
