[ he starts off then backs up. ]

You still don't need anything?

[ but he knows the answer and marches forward again. he finds the photographers, layout, and his boss. oh. that's fun. savannah remembers she has lunch. crap. and floats the funniest idea. and insists alex can have two lunches. he has boy metabolism. his superior asks if he got that one thing done. he's alex so he got it done yesterday. he waves him off.

She's ... still in the meeting.

But, I have some free time. Suddenly. I was told to put it on the paper's dime. Celeste is - well, frivolous with everything just... yeah, that's how to describe her. [ not that she asked. ] Interested in lunch with Savannah's editor? Now, I'm not as loud and I don't wear dresses - but she did get me into ... what is it, Project Runway? And The Biggest Loser. [ a shrug. ] Or, I can be a mime and you can have lunch with a mime. Because I have really overshot my talking quota for the day. [ beat. ] It would probably be creepy eating lunch with a mime, wouldn't it?

[She raises an eyebrow at all of that and she isn't really sure what's going on, but she's starving. So you know what? She will take that lunch she doesn't have to pay for.]

Let's go. I'm about to eat my foot.

I recommend not doing that.

[ but, he waits for her to stand and get her things and then they'll head to the elevator. ]

For the record, Savannah told me to sub in for her. She sends her apologies and says she'll be at your place tonight with abs and tequila. I... don't know what that means.

So. How do you know Savannah?

We went to college together. Stayed close.

I try to keep in touch when I can but I'm not that good at it. I'm not from here, so.

But, does it matter how ends are met? Some people do that. I'm sure if you had no other choice, you'd get any job. But, you're doing what you love, right? And that's what should matter.

[But it doesn't because her sister never got to do what she loved. that's what happens when you get pregnant at sixteen.]
