1. Comment to this post with one of my muses (not listed: Barry Allen, Laurel Lance) in the subject line or "surprise me."
2. I will start a thread of the two of them getting caught under the mistletoe.
3. It doesn't have to be magical mistletoe - I will probably just have it be regular mistletoe. I just want overly indulgent shippy stuff.
4. Enjoy!

[but at any rate, his eyebrows creep a little higher, here] An earthquake machine? [and she doesn't consider that to be a little beyond garden variety psychopath?] Suddenly, I'm glad the worst thing the Kitchen ever had to worry about was Wilson Fisk.

I guess it's ... harder for me to pin him into that box. I've known Malcolm Merlyn my whole life. Moira Queen as well
[Both of whom are dead now - at least as far as the rest of the world is concerned. Malcolm is now the leader of the League of Assassins, but legally dead, and Moira was murdered in front of her children a year later. Moria at least stood trial for her crimes, unlike Malcolm, who essentially got away with it.]
It's hard to see them in the same light as guys like Fisk when it's personal.

[briefly, Matt tries to imagine what it would be like, if Foggy went dark side. he dismisses it quickly, in part because he doesn't want to think about it (he'd probably go with him, Foggy his heart as much as Karen is his drive, or at least not be able to bring himself to try and stop him) and in part because, if he thinks about it too long, his expressions might give away that there's something more to him. never mind the fact that his not adding The Devil of Hell's Kitchen or Daredevil or whatever the hell they're calling him this week to the list of bad things to happen to the Kitchen might have, already]
[regardless, finally, Matt bows his head a little] I'm sorry. [because yes, he can gather that they're dead, and even if they were the bad guys -- well, going back to the mental image of evil!Foggy, he wouldn't want that. he couldn't live with that, even if it was the right thing to do. the only thing to do]

That being said, she waves a hand.]
It's in the past. And Star City is working on moving forward.
no subject
Well. [he offers her a thin smile as he raises his head again] At least there's that.
no subject
We're taking it one step at a time.
[A beat, then curiously.]
You know, they were never particularly clear on how they got Fisk. Was it just dumb luck?

[Which she happens to be a part of but suuuuuuure.]

Hanging out with Tony Stark wouldn't really be the Arrow's style, I'll admit. I'm not sure he really seems like Daredevil's either.
[Especially considering how much Oliver and Ray knocked heads.]

[whether or not the Batman actually exists in her reality, the narration doesn't know, but the point still stands]

That guy from Gotham City? He sounds like a peach.
no subject
Yeah, well. So does the Devil of Hell's Kitchen.

I guess they've all got their hang ups. None of them are really doing it for great reasons.
[There's a beat as she thinks of Barry.]
Except maybe the Flash.
no subject
What makes his reasoning so great?
[not that he thinks his reasoning is superior -- he's not a hero, never claimed to be, he just got fed up with the way things were going in the Kitchen. more, he's curious. she sounds like she knows exactly why the Flash is doing this and that's enough to make him ask]

[A beat.]
And nine times out of ten, his bad guys don't even wind up in the hospital. Just ... in jail.
[That and she's met Barry so she knows that he's basically a cinnamon roll physics nerd.]
Hurting people isn't ... necessary to him. It's just occasionally an unfortunate side effect.

[for as dismissive as that might sound, he's honestly impressed -- and maybe a little guilty, though he thinks he hides that part well enough. yeah, he likes beating the shit out of scumbags. it's not that -- well. it's complicated]
no subject
Yes, it is. Too bad not all metahumans are like him.
no subject
[casually changing the subject so he doesn't have to think about the morality of what he's doing (again) for the win?]

That's the name STAR Labs gave them. Which, since they created them, we're going to follow their lead.

I don't know. I guess it depends on if they have their own names for themselves already.
no subject
Fair enough.
no subject
Anyway. I should let you continue mingling.
[And as she glances up again and see the mistletoe, she'll pause, considering, before leaning forward an giving him a soft kiss on the cheek.]
Merry Christmas, counselor.

[he's smiling when she pulls away, and warmly, honestly, he answers:] Merry Christmas.
[that said, he'll let her go]
