[There's a long pause because Allison doesn't really know the answer to that question. She could take the easy way out and say that it's "part of the code," she could pretend that the fact that Tyler is toting around a sleeping girl in a coffin, even though she knew there were extenuating circumstances, but none of that matters right now.

What matters is that he's under assault by Monroe's hunters, and Allison can't let her win another one. She's been pushing them back lately, and if they make it all the way back to Beacon Hills then they'll just be fighting the same war, all over again.

So can I ask ... why you're toting your friend Elena around in a coffin?

It's...a long and convoluted story, like most things in my life, but the gist is she's in a magical coma and I have to keep her safe until she can wake up -- which can't happen until our friend Bonnie dies. If we try to wake up Elena it will kill Bonnie.
