Stefan? or surprise me

[Stefan doesn't like going to Beacon Hills. It's loaded with werewolves and he knows that where he goes Klaus will follow. But he also heard through the grapevine of one of Alaric's old contacts about Allison's mom, and he wasn't going to stay away either. He was on the first plane out, and he drives right to the Argents, knocking softly on their front door.]

[Allison's drenched in grief, it taints everything else. She meant what she said to her father and Gerard. She wants Derek dead for what he's done. The Argents are hunters, and she wants to hunt. Kill. She knows the difference between revenge and retribution.

It's easier to focus on that then the pain of it all.

She's been oiling the string of her bow when she hears the knock on her door. She almost doesn't answer. She doesn't need distractions. But she sets the bow down on the table, getting up to go answer the door.

She had expected Scott maybe, or Lydia. What she doesn't expect is Stefan.]

What are you doing here?

I heard about your mom.

[Not all the gory details. Just that she was dead.]

Allison, I'm sorry.

[transferee]

It's not your fault. [Her voice is steeled, as if it imply she knows exactly who did.]

[somanyadjectives]

[He hears that, and he reaches for her hand. He knows better than to ask to cross the threshold, but he can offer her comfort if she wants it.]

I know. All the same.

[transferee]

[She holds onto his hand for a moment before tearing it back. She can't be crying little Allison anymore, always waiting for someone to save her. She has to do this.]

That's a long way to come just to tell me that.

I thought it was the least I could do.

How did you even know?

[somanyadjectives]

Tyler. Someone here called him, and he told me.

[transferee]

[She pauses] Lockwood? [Her dad's given her a rundown of well known wolf families.]

[somanyadjectives]

[He nods.]

He has connections here.

[transferee]

That doesn't surprise me to hear.

[somanyadjectives]

So you know about the Lockwoods.

[transferee]

Yeah, Dad had a list of known wolf families during some of the training exercises.

[somanyadjectives]

It's odd. Tyler didn't even know he was a wolf until he became one. I'm sure he'll be thrilled to know that other people know more about his family than he does.

[transferee]

Yeah well, I didn't know the family business until I fell face first into all this stuff.

[somanyadjectives]

The supernatural has a way of sneaking up on you.

[transferee]

[She takes a breath at that, nodding a little. Her voice comes out harsher, more bitter than she'd like.] Yeah, I've been starting to notice that.

[somanyadjectives]

[he frowns, concerned.]

Allison ...

[transferee]

What? [She knows what she has to do now, she can't be talked out of it.]

[somanyadjectives]

Is there anything I can do?

[to make this easier, to keep this from defining her -- there has to be something, he just doesn't know what.]

[transferee]

Nothing, unless you want to help me kill Derek. [It's not a joke. Taking down an alpha won't be easy, she knows that.

But she can't let her mother's death go unpunished either.]

[killing a werewolf would really be no big for him, but he isn't really sure if that's what she wants.]

Are you sure?

[transferee]

I'm sure. He's the reason my mother died. If he hadn't of bitten her, she'd still be here.
