It's not often that Bela manages to stumble her way into vampire business, but occasionally that business manages to stumble into her. No matter how steadfastly she avoids Mystic Falls and New Orleans, it somehow manages to sneak back in again.

(Granted, she doesn't avoid Mystic Falls all that often, for Tyler more than anything else, but she at least manages to stay out of the major battles. Otherwise, she probably wouldn't be all that likely to stay alive.)

It's been some time since she last spoke to Tyler, some things on her side of the supernatural requiring her to lay low for a bit to now draw interested party's attention, but when she finally does resurface to do some work, she is uncomfortable to realize that she's walked right into a nest of vampires and this is most likely a trap. A very elegant, very upper class trap, but a trap nonetheless. It's the best kind of trap to catch her in, really, and the last thing she expects is for a very familiar werewolf to walk in and immediately this becomes complicated.

Bela usually doesn't care what happens to herself - any death is better than the death that would have come with her deal. But she does care what happens to Tyler, so if this is a trap for her, it's clear that he would be the perfect bait. She glances around quietly for a moment, before grabbing a second flute of champagne and making her way over.

Vampire business is kinda bullshit, most of the time. Tyler tries to avoid it where he can but it's hard when most of his friends are vampires. (okay so Stefan and Damon are so not his friends but Caroline and Elena are.)

Parties in Mystic Falls are always dangerous and this one is no exception.

He sees Bela head over towards him and his eyes widen a little.

"Bela? What are you doing here?" It's been a while, to say the least.

"Business," she says thinly, slipping her arm through his as she starts to lead him away from the main area of the group. She doesn't want to say more than that until they have more privacy and she wants to determine what he's doing here as well.

"Some colleagues of mine and I have been having a small ... disagreement. I was hoping to settle it." Possibly violently. "I didn't realize you'd be here."

[lockwood]

"I come back home occasionally -- when I need to."

He was told by his friends he needed to be here and so he is.

"What kind of disagreement?" He wouldn't be surprised if Bela was in trouble -- but if she is he wants to help.

She automatically shakes her head, not wanting to dig him into this hole any deeper than she already is. "It's just a small business disagreement. I can handle it." But then again, this is Bela so can you Bela? Really?

[lockwood]

"I can help, you know." He'll probably get involved whether she wants him to or not, honestly. He's stubborn like that.

He is stubborn like that, but so is she. She has a feeling that he is the bait for a very violent trap. "I know. But I don't need it. I'll be fine." She usually is. Most of the time.

[lockwood]

"I know you'll be. Because I'm here to help you." He can deal with violence -- he knows that all too well after mystic falls.

And that earns him a look because why, Tyler. Why can't you take a brush off like a normal person. "Tyler."

[lockwood]

He just offers her a shit eating grin at that. "Yes, Bela?" Sorry, that brush off is not going to work on him.

She sighs heavily, before reaching for his arm and pulling him out of the main area, away from prying ears. Whatever is going on, they're not going to discuss it out in the open, and she isn't going to be able to get rid of him otherwise.

He's slightly annoying that way. "Come with me."

[lockwood]

"Lead the way."

He has no idea what's going on but he figures it's something they can't just discuss out in the open.

And with that, they will wander their way back into the more private rooms before closing the doors behind her.

"I may or may not have come into possession of a particular type of wood that can kill a particular hybrid, and a certain group of vampires may have become interested in it, and they're not interested in paying."

[lockwood]

Tyler's eyes widen at that. He may not be part of Klaus' sireline anymore but some of his friends are.

"You have white oak? We need to destroy that. If he dies so does Elena and Caroline."

To be honest, he could care less about the Salvatores, but Caroline and Elena are friends. He can't let something happen to them.

She pauses before shaking her head. "That's the thing. It won't." Not that she can really say for certain, but she's heard enough to give the rumor some credence. "There's a rumor floating around that a witch named Davina Claire has broken Klaus's sire line. Should he die, he's the only one. It won't impact the vampires connected to him."

[lockwood]

A few different emotions flit through Tyler's expression at that news. It's kind of what he always wanted -- even if he's long since given up his own vendetta against Klaus it doesn't mean he wouldn't celebrate if the Original hybrid kicked it.

"So what's the problem then? Let them get the wood and kill the bastard."

"I am a businesswoman. If I simply gave things away, then people would simply think they could steal from me whenever they liked." Bela is stubborn and she does have her principles. "That, and I am fairly certain that even if I did give it to them willingly, they'd kill me anyway. I am a great proponent of me being alive."

[lockwood]

"I am too. I was hoping they'd just be satisfied with killing Klaus." A boy can dream, okay? "But if that's not the case, then I guess we better get it back."

[enjoythe_ride]

She nods in agreement, before crossing her arms in front of her chest. "Do you think your witch friend might be able to help me cloak it somehow?"

[lockwood]

"Yeah, I can ask Bonnie. I don't see why she wouldn't help." At least he hasn't begged her for favors as much as the rest of their group has.

Bela nods in agreement. "I'd be more than willing to trade for it - a favor for a favor."

[lockwood]

"Good, that's more than most people offer her." The Salvatores are kind of bad just expecting favors from Bonnie with nothing in return.

[enjoythe_ride]

She nods in agreement. "Now we just have to navigate our way out of here without being caught by my buyers. I don't think it's the kind of spell you can do long distance."

[lockwood]

"Probably not. We'll need to make up a reason for us to leave that they won't be suspicious of."

[enjoythe_ride]

"I'm sure we can think of something," she says with a small smile. "All we have to do is get creative." And she's already working together a plan, because she's used to the men in her life being dumb and useless.
