[ Toe to toe. It's what she does best. A few matched blows and a jump kick later, Buffy turns back to Dean. ]

You still alive?

[ the vampire tries to attack but she catches it's arm and twists it, pushing it into a tree, holding it there. and then she's headbutted back. okay, fine. she'll wait to be distracted. ]

Hold that thought.

[ She'll duck a punch and give a punch of her own. Okay, two. Then she uses its arm to flip it on its back and her stake comes out. She has company, so she twirls her stake. What? Dean's over his head. Why not remind him. Before she shoves it into the vampire's heart.

Dust to dust.

Also, try being smarter Dean.

Finally, she'll turn back attention to Dean, sheath her stake and offer a hand. ]

You okay there?

[hasperkynipples]

[Dean is mostly just looking very put out that she stole his vampire. Show off. Stupid Slayers.

Still, he takes the hand when it's offered.]

Yeah. I'm fine.

[He glances down at it.]

Yeah. I think it's a little more effective than a stake.

[not all vampires dust, you know.]

Then you'll love Sunnydale. We are bith with the indiscriminate demon population. Wait, is that the right word?

You'd have to ask Sam that.

Ours is - it's being worked on. We had a mishap. [ with Dawn and the First or a ghost. or something. maybe it was their mother? ] Not... that I'm invited you to stay with us.

[ a beat, she collects her thoughts. ]

But, I can point you in the right direction. I need to finish patrol but then I can do the helping thing.

I think we'll be able to manage. We weren't really planning on staying.

You visited to dust one lousy vamp?

[hasperkynipples]

We've been tracking him since San Francisco. It was a little personal.

Did he kill someone close to you? [ incredulousness. ] You followed him down the coast? Do you realize he led you to vamp central?

[hasperkynipples]

We didn't want to be here, alright? We just wanted the vamp. We finish what we start.

[attainathons]

[ Or she finishes what you start. ]

If I'd known he was spoken for I'd have let him choke you to death. [ so, she's sassy tonight. ] Where's your brother, anyway?

[A look.]

[That's what Dean would like to know. He glances around before frowning -- it's not like Sam's hard to miss.]

Don't know. Guess he got sidetracked.

There's still a guest late to the party. [ considering his vampire came from out of state ] Sidetracked is my best bet. . [ and if Sam handles vampires as good as Dean... ] See a Nicholas Mulberry anywhere? [ on the headstones ]
